BEING FREE!!

Last night I experienced something very awesome. I manage a women’s group called BREAKING FREE at a women’s shelter. The group has been going on for about 2 years and every 3 months we have a graduation for the women who have participated in the group. This year we decided to invite the people that we accused in our life of sexual assaults. 31 women from this group had quite a few family members come to the graduation. But what was powerful was that over 25 women was able to forgive, let go, and move on. FORGIVENESS is such a powerful tool that when used can literally set the captives free. I saw that last night as I sat in my seat and watched Christ Love overshadow this graduation. The scripture says in Colossians 3:13 - Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye. We must forgive. Christ commands it.... But that is easier said than done. Forgiveness is sometimes a work in process that only comes when we realize that we all have sinned and come short of God’s glory.
